What Is a Plasma Pen?
Non-surgical blepharoplasty (or non-surgical blepharoplasty)
is a non-invasive treatment that uses a plasma generator to tighten the skin of the upper eyelid and minimize crow's feet and wrinkles around the eyes. The technology is a non-surgical alternative to the traditional eye lift, which usually requires a skin incision. Sagging upper eyelids, under-eye wrinkles, and various skin diseases and problems (such as aging, acne, rosacea, scarring, and birthmarks) can also be treated with the plasma generator machine.

How Can Plasma Help in Anti-Aging Procedures?
When exposed to your skin, a targeted current of plasma creates the tiniest of wounds. This provides stimulation to fibroblasts in the deep layers of your skin. Fibroblasts are the cells that are responsible for generating and maintaining connective tissue, making them essential in healing wounds and producing collagen, which in turn keeps your skin looking supple and healthy.
This means that they are extremely responsive to any trauma in your skin, and the minor wounds left by the plasma are enough to get them pumping out white blood cells to repair the damage and produce extra amounts of collagen.
How does the plasma pen work?
The Plasma Pen converts electrical energy into gaseous, diatomic molecular nitrogen and transmits the energy contactless from above to the skin surface. About 1 mm from the skin, oxygen and nitrogen mix to create a plasma arc that is discharged onto the epidermis. There is an immediate contraction of the skin tissue and thermal disturbances in the dermis. This stimulates collagen production over the next few months and activates and releases important proteins in the dermis.
This causes micro-trauma to the epidermal layer (top layers) of the skin, while simultaneously heating and disrupting the deeper structure of the skin through heat conduction.
This treatment is also called fibroblasting.
The extremely precise and controlled trauma to the epidermis causes the skin to superficially become a tiny carbon crust that falls off within a few days. Once this falls off, you will have beautiful and rejuvenated skin on the surface.

What’s the procedure like?
The basic steps typically include:
- Cleansing the skin and applying a topical anesthetic (numbing) cream. You need to wait about 30 minutes for the numbing cream to take effect.
- Treating the designated skin area with the plasma pen. The pen will create small arcs of microcurrents that make small scab-like dots on the skin.
- Our Medical aesthetician will remove the numbing cream and apply a cooling gel to minimize the tingling and burning sensation whenever possible.
The procedure usually takes about 30 to 60 minutes to perform.
Recovery;
Once the procedure is completed, you can expect the small dots to scab over and fall off after about 1 week. Over the next couple of weeks, as your skin heals, it should appear tighter and firmer.
Some people may see benefits from one treatment, while others may require three treatments before they see results.
